The Integrative
Approach

As an integrative psychotherapist, I am trained in different approaches of therapy, which means I can tailor the style of therapy to meet your unique needs.

  • Person-centred therapy – you are at the centre of our work together, I respect your autonomy and believe in your potential to heal and grow, in whichever way you choose.

  • Psychodynamic therapy – we can explore how your past relationships affect how you feel and experience things in the present.
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – we can also work in a solution-focused manner to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that no longer serve you.

  • I also have experience working with trauma, bereavement, anxiety, low self-esteem, loss of identity, and I am an affirmative therapist for neurodiversity and the LGBTQ+ community.

Logistics

I provide face-to-face sessions in a lovely rural setting in Tattenhall, Cheshire, just outside of the historic city Chester. I also offer online and telephone sessions.

Cost

At Peapod Psychotherapy, I prioritise transparency. The cost of a 50-minute session is £55 with a concessionary rate of £45 for students. This way, you can make an informed decision and feel comfortable with the financial commitment before scheduling your first full appointment. Payment is typically due 48 hours before your scheduled session.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in the initial taster session?

Getting started is the hardest part, but it's also the most important step. We begin with a complimentary 20-minute introduction taster session. This is your opportunity to meet me, ask questions, and experience the "safe space" we will create together - without any commitment or pressure. This session will be conducted over the phone or via our encrypted online platform.

How long does therapy last, and is what I share strictly confidential?

The duration of therapy is completely tailored to your needs. Some clients may choose to work with me for a specific period, while others may prefer ongoing support. I will regularly review your progress to ensure we are achieving your goals. Regarding confidentiality, at Peapod, I utilise a private system called Therasee, as I'm dedicated to safeguarding your data and maintaining the privacy of our clients, in compliance with GDPR regulations.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

I understand that unexpected events happen, and I approach scheduling with flexibility and respect. However, to ensure consistency in your care and respect for our time, I require 24 hours' notice for any cancellation or rescheduling of a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will, unfortunately, be charged in full.

Your Safe Space

We are governed by trust, not just rules

What you share here stays here. I operate strictly within the ethical framework of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy), which means your emotional experience is protected, private, and respected. You are empowered to speak openly and without fear of judgement. While the therapeutic relationship is private, we will clearly discuss the professional limits of confidentiality (such as situations requiring intervention for immediate safety) during your first session, ensuring you are fully informed and secure in your safe space.

Setting clear boundaries allows us to focus entirely on your healing. My T&Cs, which will be shared with you during your initial stages, outline the professional agreement to ensure clarity and transparency in our work together.

A complimentary 20-minute chat is the safest first step you can take to meet me and see if the nurturing connection of Peapod Psychotherapy is the right fit for your unique journey, with absolutely no commitment required.
